Better Than Shoveling
By Mark M

Review Posted 12/19/2022
Fuel lines rotted and cracked the first season replaced with parts store bulk line. Primer is not effective and needs a splash of fuel from a squirt bottle.
Tires are tubeless and go flat from time to time usually while in use.
Shear pins are weak. Cobbled new ones from bolts and no problem since! Plenty of power but no traction...

I've had this snow blower for five seasons. It has functioned flawlessly while clearing snowfalls up to 24". I did add the tire chains, which helped with pushing through a heavy pile of snow and going up hill. This snow blower doesn't have a reverse, which would be very helpful in clear and narrow driveways where you don't have a lot of room to turn around. For the price I think it was a good value.

Life Saver

I bought this snow blower in June of 2013. I didn't realize how much it would come in handy. Once I figured out how to use the electric start button, it was very easy to use. It removed the snow just as I hoped that it would. Unfortunately we received a lot of snow this winter but I was able to put it to the test. It was a life saver.

Bought This blower after the old one quit

This snow blower is great, the only thing that it lacks, it does not go low enough to the ground. Plows through snow with ease. Not good up hill. Will see if it can be modified to go lower to the ground and may need wheels for uphill. Used it often already this winter with all the snow.

Curious

My unit has the primer bulb partially covered by the portion of the hand grip assembly that runs vertically up to the drive control lever, part of, basically the handle bars or grip.

It is almost as if the wrong pre-bent tubes that make up that assembly were installed in backwards.

Ideal size for tight driveways

Live in Massachusetts and bought this as a gift for my father. I wanted something around 20" just to get around the cars and through the crud at the end of the driveway. Perfect size for tight spots and getting through a foot of snow.

I've used this blower twice now and on one occasion it was drifted light snow and the second occasion it was 2"-3" of heavy slushy snow. Does awesome in the light snow but barely throws the heavy snow unless you have 6+ inches or push it faster than the 1st stage speed. Not a bad piece of equipment so far.

I bought this unit in 2011 - used it for 2 hours. Stored properly. Tried using it Winter of 2012 and couldn't keep it running - paid an Ariens repair shop $125 to tell me that the LCT carburetor is junk. Commonly reported problem I guess, Ariens and LCT won't do anything but sell you another one.
