3 year engine warranty?

Saia delivered mower to my garage door, great service. Mower uncrated and ran as expected, my only surprise is the 6000 series Kohler is only warranted for two not three years as the literature online states.

I Love This Machine

I bought this one to replace a 50" Cub Cadet that had the deck rust out around the spindles. This one is easier to get around all the things my wife has (had me) plant in the yard. It does not disengage the PTO in reverse like the last one did, so I can get really close around many plantings and don't need the weed-eater as much.

So far I am impressed, but because of the weather, have only mowed four times since buying it. I did buy a mower jack so I can raise it enough to keep the underside of the deck cleaner and maybe won't rust so quickly. The deck has a washout connection but I don't really trust that to keep the underside of the deck clean enough considering that I live on the Texas coast, on an island, so I have a real rust problem.

GREAT MOWER few issues with set up
By Curtis P.

Review Posted 06/23/2016
I was looking for a nice 42" that would last for years to come. I believe this is the best 42" residential ZTM they make. It's got more than enough power to it tall grass, and it's very fun to drive.

The one issue I had that really frustrated me was the fuel pick up line. if you are looking at buying this mower please make sure to connect the fuel pick up line before anything else. It seems obvious they'd state this, but no where in the manual does it state this. Why it's unhooked I'm not sure.

Also get ready to swing a hammer and spend a good hour trying to get this out of the crate.

Other than that I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I Love It

Arrived on time, driver even helped me un-crate it enough to get it off pallet. Had to wait to use it for several days because of rain, but so far I like it very much. There is a small learning curve from the way my old Cub Cadet handled, but I can get closer around all the things my wife keeps dragging home to plant in the back yard.

First Zero turn

First zero turn I have ever owned.....So I can't compare how this unit is to others... But I will say that for first zero turn I have ever owned.... I am very happy with the way it is built ... The way it runs... The way it cuts....overall a very nice machine... However... We all know hinge are not perfect.... And nor is this machine.... I found its a little short for a taller person... Wish the seat was set back a bit more....

Good mower, difficult unpacking
By Brendon Harrison
Fairport, New York
Purchased 04/11/2016 |
Review Posted 05/06/2016
Delivery of the mower was great. I go the lift gate service and they were able to get the mower right into my garage. The only thing here is I wish they gave you some advice on unboxing the mower. It is packaged very well in a crate and on top of a pallet. It was a bit of a pain to unpack.

After going through the manual and setting everything up the battery was dead on arrival. I got a new battery and thankfully it started (Mowers direct is reimbursing me for the new battery). Have about 3/4 of an acre to mow most of which is relatively flat with some slight inclines. The first time mowing I set to 4.5in and some of the lawn was 7inches high. I almost went through a whole tank of gas. I cut again at 3.5in and went through 1/2 a tank. The cut looks very nice, mower handles well, and has plenty of mower to cut even tall grass.

My only complaint (which I've read from other reviews on different sites) is the wheels do slip. I mowed when the grass was completely dry but the rear tires will slip if there is even a slight incline and you are trying to do a Y turn to turn around.

Other than that the mower is great and hope it will last a long time

Great value
By Jeff Oakley

Researched for a long time and was debating between the 2015 and brand new 2016. While the solid reviews and discounted price of the 2015 model were extremely tempting, I opted for the 2016 due to the upgraded frame (I'm about 250 pounds).

Four cuts into the season and I am not disappointed one bit! Even, quick and powerful mow. I've owned some commercial grade mowers (which were mostly all excellent) but for my 3/4 acre flat yard, this is perfect. Great value for the money. We'll see how it holds up over time, but so far, loving my new mower!
