  5 Questions
Q: Is this model (TORO-38282) electric start only or does it also have a manual (pull cord) start?
by George from Indiana on January 05, 2014

A: George - the Toro 38282 has both an electric start option and a recoil (rope pull) start option.
by Joe, Product Expert

Q: Does this blower need to be plugged in while in use?
by Heather from Ohio on December 15, 2013

A: Heather - the Toro 38282 runs on gasoline. It is not an electric snow blower. You would plug this in each time you wish to start it, and then unplug it once it starts.

Q: what is difference between auger and power propel system in snow blowers
by Enza Pusillo from New Jersey on November 25, 2011

A: Enza - there is no difference. Auger-drive and power-propel are the same thing. The auger paddles will contact the surface being cleared of snow and this will help pull the snow blower in a forward direction.

Q: What is the major difference between single-stage and two-stage snow blowers? I moved to Delaware last year so I'm new to the area. I think on a rough year we might see a 5 or 6 snowfalls, mostly under 6 inches. We might get the occasional snow of 12-19 inches, but that's a once a year or once every few years type event.

So, I don't want to buy a giant overkill snowblower, I'm just looking for a soild little snowblower, I think like the Toro Power Clear 418ZE (18").

I do have a pretty long driveway so I was also wondering how fast these little blowers clear the snow.

Thanks

by Robert Boyce from Delaware on October 18, 2011

A: The difference between a single stage and a two stage is going to be size as well as and more importantly how the snow is brought into the and pushed out of the auger and chute. A single stage is going to bring in the snow with the auger and push it out the chute. The two stage will bring in the snow with the auger and it will send it back to the 2nd stage, which is the impeller and this would propel the snow out the chute. This gives you more distance on your throw of the snow.

My suggestion for you with your snow fall would be a single stage snow blower. These are great for the medium to light snow, but can also handle large snow as well, it would just take you longer, but can still get the job done.

The 418ZE is a great little unit, but you could also take a look at the 21" model as well.

Q: CAN THE TORO 621 QZE MODEL38459
FIT IN THE BACK OF A SUV LIKE THE HONDA
PILOT OR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE?

by Anonymous from New York on August 15, 2011

A: If you fold down the upper handle, any of the Toro single stage snow blowers will fit in the back of an SUV. The upper handle is easily folder down by simply loosening a knob on either side of the handle.

Merry Christmas To Me!
My husband had always had a secret desire for one of these little gems. Living in the Great White North of MN, we had a 2-stage thrower already and the all necessary snow plow on the front of his 3/4 ton truck. But what he didn't have was the rubber-paddled lightweight "helper" for throwing all the snow from our decks and sidewalk. Until now, we relied on brut strength and sheer will, but knowing that our brood wasn't growing fast enough and we were aging to fast to handle the... more

"This company is great! Super, fast, knowledgeable crew and competitive pricing made this a no-brainer. And did I mention the free shipping?! Fantastic! And the website was chock full of potential purchases, presented in a user-friendly way. I really enjoyed this website! I also enjoy the tip/tricks that are now being sent to my email. I have not had to work with returns or service yet (hopefully I won't have to) but as for now I can easily say this is a great company-thank you!"

Happy In Iowa
I wanted a snow blower I felt comfortable with. My husband had a big one but it's too big for me to handle. I wanted something I could use when he was unavailable and this fits the ticket perfectly.
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Light Weight, Price
Cons: None

Toro Power Clear 418ze
Ordered this snow blower after hand shoveling my drive way. Was delivered before the snow had melted!!! Just in time for the next 4" snow. Assembly was too easy 5 attaching bolts/knobs and add the oil that was in the shipping box. Added fuel and it Started the first pull. Very easy to operate and made quick work of the 4"s. Worked so well I even did side walks and some of the neighbors too. Now were looking at up to 12" but I'm ready!!!
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Fast, Quiet
Cons: Does Not Come With Electric Power Cord For Electric Start

Better Then I Expected
This blower does a great job. I used it after the new year storm and will be using it again tonight as we have another snow storm blowing in. I didn't even need the electric start, it fired right up on two pulls. No need to add oil to gas and that is a plus.
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Price, Exceeded Expectations

Shoveling Gets Old, So Do I !
Could not wait to start up the new Toro, waited until there was about 3 inches. Like a little kid, ran out to start my new blower. It started on the second pull and off I went to do the driveway. It is light and it throws the snow very far. I was done in no time, thought I would do all the Neighbors driveway, but then they would expect it all the time. I maybe dumb but I'm not stupid!
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Easy To Store, Price
Cons: None So Far

Toro Is Superior
I bought my first Toro snow blower in 1972. I couldn't get it started the first snow in 2013 so I bought a new Toro. I took my old one to have it serviced and all it took was a new spark plug. I gave the old one to my son-in-law. Love my new Toro and my neighbors love it too when I clear their walks and drives.
Pros: Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Reliable, High Quality

Was concerned 87 cc engine not powerful enough but lightest elec. Start was priority and 108 cc weighed 99# far too heavy as have to carry up onto decks office bldg. Has plenty power old 2 stroke Toro worked for 10 years and weighed probably only 35#.
