  5 Questions
Q: Does the TimeMaster 30" mower have the same plastic gears in the rear drive wheels similar to the 22" mulching machines? Thank you.

by Andy from New York on May 06, 2016

A: Andy - the gear pinion (part #110-9417) on the Toro TimeMaster mowers is made of metal.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: What is the difference between Personal Pace and Self Propelled?
by Steve Brasington from South Carolina on April 09, 2015

A: Steve - Toro's "Personal Pace" system is one type of self-propelled drive system on a walk behind mower. The Personal Pace self-propel system automatically adjusts the speed of the mower to your walking speed. With a normal self-propelled system, the speed of the mower is controlled with a bail, a lever or some other mechanical means.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: With the electric start of the Toro Timemaster, does it also have the coil start with it?
by Terry Bailey from Michigan on May 18, 2014

A: Terry - yes, the Toro 20200 has a recoil (rope start) option as well as the electric start.
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: Can you get this mower with swivel wheels in front and also a stripper? Please reply.
by Larry Alsleben from Minnesota on March 09, 2013

A: Larry - the Toro TimeMaster does not have a front swivel wheel option. As for a lawn striper, this is what you would need: lawn striper
by Jose, Product Expert
Q: RE: Toro 20200: Can this unit be operated without the bag in place? How is it delivered, what is owner set-up involve? Thanks.
by Derek Braybrooks from South Carolina on May 29, 2012

A: Derek - yes, the Toro TimeMaster mower can either discharge the clippings or mulch the clippings without the bagger being attached - just like a standard 21" mower. This mower would be delivered in it's shipping carton via a semi truck to your home or business. Assembly is very simple. Fold up and tighten the handle, attach the bagger if you want to bag, add oil and gas, and start mowing.

Not Recommended
This is my third Toro mower. The first two were 21inch mowers and both were very good. The 30 inch TimeMaster is a big disappointment. I have had it for four years and had to replace the “V” belt that goes from the motor to the timing belt every other year.
It is under powered but uses about more gas than either of the 21 inch mowers.

Also it cannot pull itself up a small hill in my yard, I have to push. The 21 inch mowers never had trouble with the hill. Do not cut thick grass with it,... more

30" Toro Self-propelled Lawn Mower With Electric Start
First one we received the left front tire would not touch the ground. This one was sent back and received a replacement. the replacement would not track straight - you would fight it to mow a straight line. being we had put gas and oil in the mower, we could not return this one. We ended up taking it to an authorized Toro dealer to get it fixed - under warranty.

Some dealers may charge you an up front fee to work on the mower - if you did not buy it from them. This happened to us, so do... more
Pros: Reliable
Cons: Heavy, Not Good Around Trees Or Schrubs, To Turn - Maybe Swivel Front Tires Would Be Better

All The Bad Reviews Are The Truth!!!
Bought this in 2013, should have returned after the first time I used it. The ONLY good thing about this mower is it almost always starts on the first pull. It is under-powered, the drive system is a good idea but it doesn't work well. The cut is terrible, leaves a trail of partially cut grass about 6 inches in from the right rear wheel. Most times I have to go over areas twice, that doesn't save much time. Grass sticks to the deck like you wouldn't believe, even dry grass.

Under Powered
If you have a flat yard and mow your lawn every 3 days when the grass is totally dry, this may be the machine for you. This is a finish mower - not the type you want for the everyday lawn mowing.

Stalls when you engage the blade, stalls when the grass is a bit long, stalls when the grass is damp, have to push it up steep slopes. On the down slopes you have to use all of your strength to hold it back. It is underpowered and clunky. Remember, this is a $1,000 machine and not a $300 mower!

Very Nice Mower
This mower will build you a new body over the course of a summer. I have only used it 3-4 times and I can see and feel the difference. I knew going in that it was a very heavy mower. I got it for the 30" cut and the Key start. Self propelled and Mulching were also required. The mower has surpassed all my expectations.

I have a flat yard, Ditches and Banks, It does it all. I have no problem with the power but the Motor but could be one size bigger. Since the Mower is so heavy It uses a... more

I love the lawnmower. The only problem is when you put the hose on to clean underneath, it dosen't really clean all the grass from underneath, and it does use a lot of gas. Otherwise, it's a great mower.

Very Pleased
I'm very happy with this purchase. The mower is agile and easy to push. I have nearly a half acre to mow and deterioration in my lower back discs make this painful. Not to mention the Texas heat. I considered a riding mower, but I have too much slope and too many obstacles to use a rider exclusively.

First impressions:

1. Started easy, first pull. I didn't wait to charge the battery because I needed to mow right away.

2. As stated earlier, surprisingly easy to maneuver. The self... more

Just Right
This is an excellent grass-cutting machine. The electric start is perfect for an 85 year old man. Easy to use---not complicated at all. My 9/10 acre lot goes faster with the 30 inch cut.

A bit heavy for a lot of close cutting, but great for larger areas. Divide the yard in sections and cut whole yard in 3 outings for terrific exercise versus the big rider.
