  1 Question
Q: Hi Bill,
I have a taskmaster 1850. The GFCI tripped and now the motor wont start. What can I do?
HELP!!!!!!
Thanks,
Susan

by Susan.ebersole@yahoo.com from Indiana on May 07, 2011

A: If the GFCI tripped, you would have to reset it by pushing in the reset button. Without doing this, the motor will not come on. If you have tried that already, check your breaker and make sure it did not tripp as well. If it still does not come on by doing this, then there may be something wrong with the motor and then you would have to contact Taskmaster.

Thanks,

Task Master Flunks Basic Task
My TM 1850 was purchased at a chain store in 2009. It was used once in 2009, then stored for the winter. In 2010, I don't recall using the unit even once. In 20 11 the unit was used twice to clean landscaping bricks/rocks.

So far, so good.

In 2012, I used it to clean my van wheels in April. I pulled it out again 3 weeks ago to power clean my patio.

Water came shooting out of the trigger housing when I turned the unit on. I disassembled the trigger/handle to discover that the... more

Works Great
Have had several washers and this one works great. Use it weekly all summer long.

Going on third year with no problems. The ones complaining about leaking is probably due to freezing in winter and or rubber seals not seated when put together.

As far as not spraying properly make sure all air is out of system. Leave unit off and pull trigger to let water run through before starting motor.

It has great pressure. We use to clean decks, houses, tractors, RVs etc., etc. and have had no... more

Bush League Product!
Junk indeed. Going on third summer used it for 4 jobs, pressure clean deck, garage floor, and one side of the house and motor burned up! Definitely will NOT buy another Taskmaster product!

Never Worked At All
I could never get the compressor to kick on. I hooked it up at 3 different houses, including one with very high water pressure.

I suspect it is sucking air as it occasionally sputters, but all connections are tight. I can not remember where I bought it so, I can't return it.

Lesson learned, always use something the same day you buy it. Just in case it doesn't work.

I had the thing for a month before I tried it, and then spent a couple weekends trying to get it to work.

Assumed... more

A Piece Of Junk
If I could rate this power washer worse than bad, I would. The first time my husband used it, the motor started to smoke and then the washer just died.

Since we registered the power washer and was told it had a one year factory warranty, we tried to get assistance by going to the instructed website powerwasher.us. However, every time I go to that website, there is never anyone to chat with. They are always offline for the moment.

I have sent several emails and always receive the... more

Terrible Trigger Assembly
Worked OK last year. This year it leaks water all over from the hand nozzle just like everyone else's!

Cant find parts.

PWD RESPONDS: The Taskmaster is made by the folks at Powerwasher, so their replacement parts will fit.

We carry the Powerwasher 81K053SH Replacement Gun and Hose; it would work fine as long as your lance and nozzle are still in good shape. You'll find it under the Accessories tab, in the Electric Spray Guns- Other category.

Care must be taken to drain all the... more

Two Strikes
I bought a Taskmaster 1550 PSI last year. The second time I went to use it water shot out of everyplace except the nozzle.

I bought a Taskmaster 1800 PSI yesterday; returning it today. I get more pressure from my garden hose.

In this case, two strikes and they're out.

PWD RESPONDS: Taskmaster pressure washers have a 1 year Factory Warranty; so your first unit may still be covered.

They are made by the folks at Powerwasher; you can contact them directly through their web site at... more
