  3 Questions
Q: I'm looking at 2 of your mowers and I can't see any difference between them except the price:

Snapper NXT22875E - $399.00
Snapper NTX22875EE - $449.00

Can you tell me the difference between these two mowers except the price?

by Rick Marston from Washington on February 16, 2013

A: Rick - the primary difference in these two models is that the NXT22875E has a single point height of cut adjustment system that uses a lever to raise and lower the deck. The NXT22875EE has an electric height of cut system that is activated by a switch which raises and lowers the deck automatically. Virtually no effort required to change the cutting height of the mower deck.

Q: Good evening,
My rear wheeled drive mower just died. I'm on the hunt for a new one but I'm torn between the Honda and Snapper. My yard is on a hill and I want a superior cut, rear wheeled drive mover with a bag. I've used my neighbors Honda that allows me to keep the mover running while emptying the bag and shutting off the blade while doing so. It also offers a great cut with the dual blades. I've grown up using Snapper mowers so I have a personal attachment to them. Which in your professional opinion is the best for the money? Which brand and model of mower would you recommend?

by Kevin White from Alabama on April 26, 2011

A: Both models are going to be very high quality, but it could just come down to what options are more important to you. In terms of a good quality cut, both would give you such a thing.

If blade brake clutch is something you do favor though, the Honda would probably be your best choice. Snapper does not offer a mower with the blade clutch. Otherwise, either mower would be a good choice.

Q: Todd:My 80 year old mother wants a new lawn mower. Her health is excellent, but she is losing some of her strength and her current lawn mower (John Deere) is not an electric start and is hard to handle, even being self propelled.

Her criteria for a new mower are: 1. Gas powered electric start 2. Engine remains running when the safety bar is released. 3. Self propelled 4. Rear bagging 5. As lightweight as it can be. 6. Quality and dependability.

Money isn't that large of an object, but dependability and features are. If you could assist, it would be greatly appreciated.

by Tim Alzheimer from Montana on March 17, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The mower listed here would meet your criteria. The dependability and features on this mower are definitely along the lines of what your are looking for.

The Battery Is Terrible
The battery is not large enough for the starter. It takes up to 2 days to get a charge off the battery - if you can. My first battery did not start at the beginning of the new season (after only one season) I was one week late taking it back to be under warranty. I bought a new battery (dead on delivery) and sent it back because it did not work. The third battery had to be charged for 2 days and kept a charge through one mowing and I am back to having problems again! I am now paying to... more

Rough Assembly, Great Mower
A mower such as this needs a good charge. (No pull start) so you must assemble this mower with the battery in mind.
I assembled it charged for 24 hours then tried to start it... Nada
I charged for another 24... Nada
I checked the battery, not connected. Ok that's easy
Charged for 2... Not happening
Checked the battery. Not connected.. Ok, again.
Charged for 24.. And again no start.. What the heck
Checked the battery... THE CLIPS were designed too loose.

Snapper Mower
I ordered the snapper and received the mower in good condition, I have used the mower 5 times and it is a very good machine. However, the only disappointment is the Snapper does not have a pull rope to start the mower in case the battery dies. In that case I would have to wait until the battery is recharged, not good!!!! I was impressed with the service Mowers Direct handled my order thank you.

Why I Bought A Snapper Mower
Many years ago I purchased a Snapper Lawnmower. When I moved, I gave it to one of my sons. It is still in use today. I subsequently moved and needed another mower. I searched the area in which I live, but could not find that brand, so I settled on another. It lasted about 16 months before it had major troubles.

I bought another brand. It too lasted under 2 years before it started to fall apart. I longed for my old Snapper mower back, but didn't have the heart to reclaim it from my... more

Buyers Review
My new snapper is OK now that I got it ready for mowing. I had a hard time getting the starter insert to into the slot. I called for assistance from customer service 1-800-317-7833 but still couldn't get the starter insert into the slot. Finally, I located a local snapper dealer and went to their shop for advice.

After much pushing I got it into the slot I am afraid to remove it as the manual advise. So far this is a big negative for me-but I will deal with it as I like everything else... more

This Machine Makes Mowing A Snapper
I have a different mower but it's too hard for my wife to use. I had to get a mower that starts and operates easily or else mow the lawn myself. I love our new Snapper. Seriously, my wife loves to work in her yard and this new mower gives her another excuse to stay out there. When she's happy, I'm happy. The new Snapper is great.

Tiger Bob
After getting some great advice from Todd (he rocks!), I ordered my mower and received it in a timely fashion within a week. It was at least a $100.00 cheaper than any of the other dealers I contacted and included free shipping. It has practically all of the features I was looking for, electric pushbutton start, electric deck adjustment, and deck washout port. The product arrived without blemish and looks beautiful. Although I will not have to cut the grass for another month, I can't wait... more

So Far, So Good
Mower arrived on time and in good shape. Driver rolled the pallet into my garage, very helpful. Immediately set it up per the instructions so I could get it charged and mow the next day. I was disappointed, but not surprised, to see that the mower was manufactured 2 years and 3 months before I ordered it.

Next day, battery still not ready after over 24 hours of charging. Removed the battery cover and one connection was very loose and the other completely off. You might as well check... more

Expected More From Snapper
Received the mower and unpacked from the shipping carton, set it up and added gas and oil. Mower started up fine and I began to mow my lawn. Half way through the deck dropped to the ground and I had a 6 foot long scalp on the lawn. I immediately shut it off, and after some checking found that a bolt had sheared. It was a bolt that connects the deck height rod to the front wheel.

Of course Snapper was closed on the weekend, so I had to call on Monday and explain what had happened. I had... more

Interesting Mower
The power height adjustment is an interesting feature. Not having a manual throttle is not good. Plenty of power. Delivered on time, Battery charged up in about 2 hrs, Started right up. Mowed lawn very well. Neighbor jealous.
Pros: Price, Features
Cons: I Would Like A Manual Throttle, Clock Monior On Fritz Already

Snapper Model #: 7800752
Ordered on Monday and received on Saturday. Shipping company surprised I called for delivery even though email from Mowers Direct stated to call shipper for delivery. After unboxing unit 2 issues were found.

1. Battery for usage monitor was dead. I went ahead and purchased one for $3.00.
2. Mower height adjust switch pushed out of opening. One of the plastic tabs holding switch in place was bent/broke so switch does not stay solidly in place. Charged main battery and started the mower the... more

"After removing the unit I had 2 issues. A dead battery CR2032 that powers the small run time computer box. I am not sure why the battery is dead sice this is a brand new unit. Apparently unit has been sitting around for some time. The second issue is the height adjust switch. Switch works fine but will not stay in place. See attached picture. I am not sure how to handle this issue. Please advise."
