Troy-bilt Pony Rear Tine Rototiller W/ Briggs Engine
My Pony rototiller with a Briggs & Stratton engine works great. It has forward wheels and forward rotating tines and it is easy to start and use.

After a few passes in my garden it can be used with only one hand. I just discovered that some of the other new Troy-Bilt rototillers use a gasoline engine that is produced in China.

Get one with a Briggs & Stratton engine.

Troy-bilt Tiller Quality?
Not one tank of non-ethanol gas has been burned in my pony tiller yet.

It's been in the shop twice with the axle seal leaking gear oil. Now the carburetor bowl is pouring out gas.

These tillers cost too much to be having problems like this within the first year. Otherwise, before the carburetor problems and oil leak, this tiller performed great.

Mountaineer Madness
I purchased this Troy-Bilt tiller and followed all the assembly instructions to the letter. Once I got the tiller started it ran for less that 10 minutes and stopped. The pull string was locked up tight and would not move at all. The tiller is now at one of Briggs and Straton authorized dealers for service and I've found out the motor is locked up and he is working with Briggs and Straton to get a new motor. The transaction with PED was good I'm just frustrated that a brand new motor would not... more
