This Pole Saw is a good entry level unit- it can handle branches up to 8" in diameter and is CARB California Emissions compliant.

This unit has a solid steel drive shaft so it won't bend or sway, along with a 3 year Factory Warranty for consumer use (2 years for pro users).

The saw doesn't come off the shaft, but the 7 1/2 foot reach keeps your feet on the ground, not on a ladder. And the padded sleeve and D handle help you cut safely and accurately.

For a longer reach, or bigger... more

Ok, But Has Design Flaw
I've used the saw to do some serious fire mitigation, cutting limbs up to 8". After getting past the initial hiccups (this is my first chain saw), I found the saw to run well. However, the cable that connects the handle to the throttle does not have a fixed connection, so many times, the cable will "pop out" of its slot, forcing me to stop work to reattach it. I've used duct tape to try to hold the cable in place, but that is only temporary at best. I consider this to be a design flaw.
Pros: Easy To Use, Light Weight

Scott,
I'd suggest contacting Tanka directly @ (888) 482-6252. They should be able to provide additional tech support or refer you to a servicing dealer for warranty work.

Better Than Chain Saw
I brought my Tanaka over 2 years ago and trim long leaf pines and large oaks that have falling in the road around the farm here in Crisp County Georgia. Neighbors asked to use pole saw instead of 18 bar on chain saw.

Don't like to let friends use pope saw because of cost but is real sturdy and has held up real well. Some of the best money ever spent.
