Mower Is Okay, But The Handles Are Defective
The mower itself is okay, but the handles are defective, part number 31098-3 breaks in approximately one season. If you have a bumpy lawn, it will break even faster. Unfortunately, there are two 31098-3 parts in the upper handle assembly, one on the left and one on the right.

I duct taped the two cracked pieces together and modified how I pushed the mower. The handles fail simply because they are cheap, thin aluminum. If you buy this product, be prepared to fool around with handles.

Worth It.
My new mower has been pretty good. I have found that I have to go over the same area more than once to get an even cut, but admittedly the grass was a bit long to begin with.

I love that I can go out an mow without having to check oil or gas, and I always struggled with starting the pull start on our previous 2 gas powered mowers. I am only 5'1, and though I am strong for my size, my arm does not reach the length of the pull strings. Now I just pick up sticks and pull the mower out of the... more

Wow!
I wish I had bought one a long time ago! I am a disabled vet (back, shoulder, and nerve problems), so I was a little worried. Those were dashed in the first two passes. I live on the coast. We have very thick, tough grass here. I had less trouble using this beautiful little machine than I did using a gas powered mower. The handles do seem a little bit light weight for this application but all in all, absolutely an A+ value all the way around! Muscle powered beats gas powered any day!
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Exceeded Expectations, I'd Buy It Again
Cons: The Handles Do Seem A Little Light Weight For This Application

Love My Reel Mower!
I have an old model Scotts 20" Classic mower I use, looks the same as this one.

My back lawn is about 40' by 60' and front is 15' by 15'. It does a great job - no, not as perfect as a gas mower but pretty close. It doesn't like tall grass but it can handle it, you may have to hit a line twice but no big deal.

It misses tall dandelions in my back yard (no weed killer there, I have a dog). I have a sweet Stihl electric trimmer that cleans up the edges.

Mowing time is about the... more

Weed Mower
I bought this mower with the idea I could mow weeds close to the house without throwing rocks through the windows. It does that very well. I enjoy getting a little exercise when mowing, you have to push this mower. I use this mower the most now.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Reliable, Easy To Store
Cons: Doesn't Mow Very Tall Weeds 6 Inches Tops

Looks Great!
But not so great, hard to sharpen, handles break off easily, very cheap metal, one side broke so I made a fix and then the other side broke.....we welded it. Hopefully it will hold now.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Quiet, Fast
Cons: Low Quality, Durability

I Like The Mower But It's Giving Me Problems
I'm happy with my decision to get a reel mower and I do like the way this particular mower works but after the second use the left rear wheel and height adjuster fell off. Scott's sent me replacement parts quickly but one of the replacement parts was defective.

Very Pleased
I could not believe that it arrived in just 2 days, which was very pleasing. It was very easy to assemble and to lower the blades. I liked everything about it, except my yard has a lot of twigs which would stop the mower immediately.

If it weren't for that I would have no complaints whatsoever. I still plan to use it when there are not so many twigs in my yard. It is a very good reel mower!

Horrible
Won't cut grass low enough in this area so even on the lowest setting the grass goes to seed 2 days later. But the worst part is the grass catcher, I have to stop and clear it every 5 feet.

Need To Mow Frequently
Purchased this model last year. Produces an even cut. Downsides include extremely difficult to mow tall grass, if lawn has any trees, small sticks will lodge in reels, handles need to be re tightened almost at every mowing and leaves severe wheel tracks. Perhaps some of these traits are common issues with reel mowers.
