Easy To Install And Wire
This is the first time that I have used this control and found that it was easy to install and wire.

This project was a retrofit upgrade of an existing generator installation. The consolidation of transfer switch and circuit breaker panel eliminated the existing bulky transfer switch and sub panel.

Upon opening the Reliance control panel the copper buss was a surprise and certainally adds to the quality of the product.

I also selected the Reliance control due to the buss bar circuit... more

Generator Panel
I found this panel well designed and a good solution for emergency power situations. There were enough breakers to cover the essential circuits during a power outage. I chose the 60 amp utility because I wanted to be on the safe side with the total current draw when all the breakers are ON and you are using utility power. When on generator power I won't be using the entire panel all at the same time and using only the breakers that are needed.

Reliance Transfer Switch
Has what I needed. A bit complicated to wire into main panel. Took master electrician a little over 5 hours to complete. Perhaps because I used 3, 20 amp tandem breakers and 5 15 amp tandem breakers plus 2 single pole breakers.

Gen Direct informed me i would need this X-series switch due to the fact of the Briggs & Stratton 8000 watt gen had "bonded grounding" in gen. Need this type. Never realized that. Reliance is good quality product.

Easy
Ordering was easy, I received it in 3 days.

Start up and installation was easy. The unit started on the 3rd pull the first time.

I have test-run it a couple times since, and it starts by the second pull.

I am pleased to find a unit made in the USA.
