Lawn Mower Only
This will work fine on your lawn mower but forget it on anything with more than a thin metal receiver. I tried to put this on my Kawasaki Mule with a normal receiver, and first found out the metric bolt was to short, then the hitchin post was not stable at all. It is sitting on the bench at home if someone wants to buy it cheap.

Arthur,
I am sorry to hear that the 3-way hitch plate you have purchased does not work for the application it was intended for. Unfortunately this item is designed more specifically for tractors or ATV's as UTV's occasionally have a difference receiver.

Once again I apologize for the inability to use the item but appreciate the time to write an honest review. I hope you have a great day!

Many Garden Tractors Will Need Reinforcement
A very high quality product, but like others have said, it will work loose and bend your tractor frame. I welded up an "L" bracket from 3/16" steel using the existing holes on the tractor frame as a backing plate. Problem solved. Now it stays tight and I can load a trailer with a 300Lb tongue weight with no problem. Great for heavier duty lawn tractors. If you bought your tractor at a big box store regardless of brand, you WILL need to reinforce your tractor to make this product... more
Pros: Durable, High Quality, I'd Buy It Again
Cons: Difficult To Use

Trailing My Swisher
The Hitchin' Post worked perfectly with my Swisher tow-behind Trailcutter, while allowing me to keep the ball mount on my ATV.

I also started using it for chain towing -an unexpected bonus!

Not Much Thought Went Into This.
The way the attachment mounts with no support, towing bends the mounting surface down making it unusable.

Needs A Substantial Support
This is a heavy duty piece and will work well if the support to which it is mounted is equally heavy duty. If so I can definitely give it a recommendation.

My garden trailer was too heavy and bent the steel mounting bracket on my mower. Not the fault of the Hitchin' Post but something which should be considered.

Perfect
I have been using only a yard trailer for years but just bought a full sized trailer from my neighbor. I needed a way to switch between the two but on used a pin and the new one used a ball.

I wanted something that allowed me to use both without removing the ball every time I wanted to pull the yard trailer. I saw this and decided to give it a try. IT WORKS PERFECT. Exactly what I needed.. Now I can keep the ball attached and still have the pin hole for the yard trailer.

BTW - I have a... more

Uh Oh
This thing kept loosening up. It fell right off while I was mowing up a hill with my tow behind trail cutter. I had to stop quickly before I ripped off the control cable to the mower. Maybe lock tite on bolt not sure?

Good Idea But......
This thing is a good idea but it falls off my tractor every time I attach ANYTHING to it. Now it is a paper weight.
