It Works
I bought one of these three years ago. Despite being touted as only for light duty I use mine on my 100 foot long driveway. It's not good for wet, heavy snow but eats up six inch deep snow easily. Starts easily, works eagerly and has been dead reliable.
Pros: Durable, Price, Exceeded Expectations, I'd Buy It Again

Bought this one new in January 2014 as my 28 year old Gilson finally died. Had several significant snowfalls, blowing and drifting, which my Gilson would have never handled even in it's prime. MTD did just fine, enough power for 6 inches of snow. Have to work at it for 8+ inches but this blower had no quit in it. Easy to start, leave on half choke for awhile until it gets warmed up. 4 cycle engine is a plus. Only issue is there were a few loose screws and bolts from the factory. Saw one... more

Good For It's Size
I got mine two years ago. We have about 6 or more snows a year. This blower is good up to 6 inches of snow, after that it labors, and you have to work at it for a while, but it is way better than working by hand. It's only 123 cc so it does a good job for it's size. If you have snows that are 8 inches or more, you will need to get a larger size motor. Starts easy, but I leave it on half choke for a while, and even while I snow blow. After a few passes I put on run. I just put it away until next... more

I Love It
I live in the southern part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, so I don't get the big snows they have in the northern portions. So I thought I'd buy this to compliment my big snow thrower that I use for bigger snow falls. Well, we've had two snowfalls that are the average for my area, and I must say I was impressed with this little guy.

It cleared off my sidewalk, which is on a double corner lot, plus my neighbor's which is on a lot and a half. Plus I cleared out my wife's parking spot and my... more

Big Rooster
I have had one in a two stroke for years.
It finally quit working, so I bought this new 4 cycle unit .
I was a little skeptical at first, but man this thing is great.
Works hard and blows far.

Starting Can Be A Problem!!
Second time I used it this winter. It seems to handle a 6 to 7 inch snowfall just fine the first time, but didn't want to start even though I followed the instructions. This last time I couldn't start it at all.
Pros: Price, Light Weight, Easy To Store
Cons: Bad Instructions, Unreliable, How About Including Instructions For That Model Only

Hope It Can Throw Snow
I bought this for my mom and sister to use. It seems pretty cheap when putting it together. The instruction manual is not well written and it covers multiple types of snow blowers. I got it started without any problems. I hope it can do what it says it is supposed to do but I am not convinced it will last very long.
Pros: Price, Light Weight
Cons: Low Quality, Bad Instructions

Worst Snow Thrower I've Ever Had
Bought this thing three years ago. Works fine with powder snow up to three inches. Any heavy snow forget it, and bring out your shovel. Never prayed for a piece of equipment to die but can't wait to give this to the garbage man. This is definitely a life lesson..you get what you pay for.

Jim,
Sorry to hear you've had such a bad experience. First thing I'd recommend is to switch to a two-stage snow blower for heavier snow. Single-stage snow throwers are intended for lighter, fluffier snow.

Second, since it only comes with a two year warranty that's already past its expiration date in your case, is to try contacting the company you purchased it from to see if they can offer any kind of help.

Best wishes from Snow Blowers Direct and PED.
