Earthquake Great Tiller
The guy that said earthquake tillers wore him out and bounced him about doesn't know how to use it. I have one and I love it. I've used it for five years before replacing the belt. My garden is 2,000 sq.ft. I till it twice a season. I till between the rows several times a season. I think for the price its one awesome tiller if it has forward rotating tines.

On the other hand, if it had counter rotating tines that may have been the problem for him. Tillers with counter rotating tines... more

It Works, I Don't
I have had a front tine tiller and tilled a half an acre with it. It was hard to start with, you have to learn how to till. The thing that looks like a "plow" is a anchor, and it is how you control it. I think the guy that got shook apart never learned the finer points of tilling, because with this rear tine model it really was a piece of cake. Starts easy, and works like a bull so you don't have to.

Earthquake Rototiller Model 7055
I bought this tiller about 4-5 years ago. It was made in Wisconsin so I thought that I would buy a local product. My other choice was a Troy Bilt. The added cost for the Troy Bilt was around $500.00. The first year that I had it I burned off 2 belts. Being a little upset I called the company and they told me to check the alignment of the pulleys. It was off by 1/2 inch - my expense.
