  9 Questions
Q: Does this mower have a rear hitch?
by Andrew from Washington on June 18, 2011

A: Andrew - the McCulloch MC30 does NOT have a rear hitch. This is strictly a riding mower. It does have a rear bumper, but there is no hitch on the unit, nor is there an option to add one.

Q: Where is a bagger available for the mcCulloch 960 22 00-13 MC30 (30") rear engine riding mower and how do i get more information on this and order the mower and bagger.
by Vicky Adams from Wyoming on June 05, 2011

A: Vicky - there is a bagger available for the McCulloch MC30, but it is not available to ship until early July. As soon as we have confirmation on the ship date, we will add the bagger for this mower to our web site.

Q: I have a steep lawn (in most places)...
my guess is possibly 30 degree +/-
what rider can handle these angles, without breaking the bank ?
I had to return the step through that Sears sells AND their tractor with the wide tire (sold that one).

by Paul Pettengill from Tennessee on May 24, 2011

A: Paul - I actually can't recommend any of the riding mowers that we carry for a lawn with 30+ degree slopes and inclines. That is some pretty steep property you need to maintain. Most of the models we handle are really only effective on inclines and slopes up to about 22 to 25 degrees.

Q: I have a large property with hilly terrain, so the q/a I about losing power on hills concerns me. But I can't find any reviews as this unit is supposedly a new mower. Do you know when it was put on the market?
by Brandon from New Jersey on May 15, 2011

A: Brandon - the McCulloch MC30 is a brand new model, just released this year (2011). They have only been available since about the end of March. With the narrow wheel base and an 11.5HP engine, my guess is this model will struggle on anything more than a slight incline, particularly if the grass is damp or wet.

Q: Can unit (Model # 9602200-13) be equipped with a bag attachment? If so, is it available and how much?
by Ferg from New York on May 11, 2011

A: This unit can be equipped with a bag. We don't have the bag attachment as of yet for this unit. It has not become available with the manufacturer. As soon as we would be able to, we would go ahead and get the bag and mulch kits for these on order.

Q: I have read several reviews on this mower and it seems to have problems with the transmission. "Loss of forward motion after one or two uses, will not go up the smallest hill." Do you know if McCulloch resolved this problem yet?
by Jim from Ohio on May 05, 2011

A: Jim - I am not aware of any design changes that have been made on this mower.

Q: Two questions. Does this mower cut in reverse? Also, does it come assembled?
by LG from Pennsylvania on April 29, 2011

A: Hi LG - Yes, this mower will cut grass when it is in the reverse gear. This mower comes "mostly" assembled. The steering column and the steering wheel need to be assembled and mounted to the unit; the seat assembly needs to be mounted to the frame; and the front and rear bumpers need to be mounted to the frame as well. Tools required to complete the assembly are: a socket set, a 1/2" standard wrench and a utility knife.
by Jose, Product Expert

Q: Is there a bagger available for this mower?
by Anonymous from North Carolina on April 07, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. We do not offer a bagger for this mower. You may want to contact McCulloch for bagger options for this model. You can reach them at 800-521-8559.
by Jose, Product Expert

Q: How wide is this mower at its widest point?
by Anonymous on April 03, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The mower is 32 inches wide overall.

Do Not Buy This Product!
For an American made product, it's a piece of garbage! First day out of the crate this mower failed to go into forward or reverse! I now have to wait a week before I get the mower repaired. Not worth dealing with after paying all this money!

Husqvarna (who manufactures this mower) has identified this issue. It is a clutch plate that has not been set correctly during manufacturing. There is a very simple fix that can be made with a 9/16" open end wrench. Adjustment should take less than 5 minutes if you have help to turn the riding mower up on it's left side to make the adjustment.

Husqvana Does Not Back There Products
I have this same mower it has been in the shop more than it's not. It does not move in forward or reverse. I've called custumer service more than once and they don't help at all. I can't believe companies can sell total junk like this and get away with this.
Cons: Low Quality, Unreliable

Do Not Buy This Mower!!!!!
The very first time I used it, it worked 20 minutes. Then refused to go in forward or reverse. McCULLOCH DOES
cost me $80 to have it looked at. What a piece of junk. I am really sorry I bought. it.

Great Mower
If you want a mower that has excellent features this is the one. Cut in reverse, nice and powerful, looks great, very easy to use. I would rate this mower 10.
