Q: Are the batteries removable for winter storage?
by Charlene Haines from Vermont on May 15, 2011

A: Charlene - yes, the battery pack on this mower is removable. The battery can be charged whether it is installed in the mower or not.
by Jose, Product Expert

Q: can the model # 25092 forward speed be controlled by the user. I like to mow at a slow forward speed as I believe most mowers move a bit too fast to do a quality smooth cut. What is the expected life for the battery. How much preventive maintenance is required in the unit. I am very high on the care of machines. The yard I care for is small, nomal cutting time with my 20 in. self propelled gas mower is about 45 minutes, will the battery hold up to this?
by Bill from Texas on April 25, 2011

A: This unit is self propelled, but you can let up on the bail and this should allow you to slow up the mower's drive system.

In terms of life on the battery, this can depend. If you are running is down until it is dead on a regular basis, it can bring down the life expectancy, but otherwise should last for quite some time. You also have a 4 year warranty on the mower as well. This mower can handle up to a 1/4 acre on one charge. If have a bigger yard than that, you may be running into a problem with this machine.

Thanks,

Q: Where do we get battery replacements?
by Bonnie Housel from Pennsylvania on April 07, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. You would have to call Greenworks directly at 704-658-0539 for replacement batteries.
by Jose, Product Expert

Q: Can you put in a 36 volt battery instead of the 24 volt battery?
by Bonnie Housel from Pennsylvania on April 07, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. This mower will only accept a 24 volt battery.
by Jose, Product Expert

Q: Is this a new product? I see that there are no reviews.
Does this have varied possible speeds?

by Yvonne Alt from Alabama on March 10, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry

This is a newer product to our site. The longer our products exist on our site the more reviews will build up. This product does not have variable speeds, but is one of the more dependable cordless mowers you will find. It comes with an industry leading 4 year warranty.

Wow! What A Nice Change!
My first mow was a dream, what a change from gas!!

I charged the battery overnight, then took the mower shell out of the packing box and moved it onto the lawn. Dropped the battery in the top slot of the mower, locked it in place. I adjusted 1 lever to change the setting for all the wheels. To start it, I pushed 1 button, 1 time, pulled up the starting bar, and it started to whirl like a quiet fan. To go, I pulled the self propelled bale bar, and away we went! Quiet, steady, and I... more

Our Electric Mower
Love our new mower. Works great. Mows the whole lawn. Quiet and runs great.

The one thing that I'm still trying to figure out is how to turn the mower while it's on self-propel without it yanking my arm.

Very happy and very satisfied.

Great Little Mower
This mower is perfect for my small yard. I've used it 5 times and have had no issues.

Just wish it had an air conditioner or sprinkler!

Oklahoma Mowing
This the first electric mower I've ever owned. I live in the northern central Oklahoma, not that its much different from anywhere else. My lawn isn't just one type of grass but 2 or 3 that are mixed in together.

When my mower arrived I was surprised at how nice this green machine looked. I hadn't realized that it had cam locks on the handle for quick folding ability for storing and transporting. A very nice feature. Charging is very easy in or out of the mower as stated. I have only... more

Help For Us Elders!
Received my mower and charged the battery. I was mowing my yard as soon as the indicator indicates it was charged and ready to go. What a pleasure to be able to mow my yard without filling it with gas & oil and pull a cord to start it.

I have mowed my front and back yards with no problems twice now. I am very happy so far. Will see how this works out during this season??? Hope we continue with this machine to work as well. So far, so good.

Works
This mower seems well built and cuts well. It is quite heavy because of the large battery. The speed control is very awkward to engage and has only one forward speed which is fairly fast. It would be better if it were more variable. Too soon to tell how the battery will last, although the unit seems to have adequate power for a small yard.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Quiet
Cons: Heavy, Expensive, Lacks Variable Propulsion Speed And Is Heavy To Move

I have approximately 1/5 Acre of varying terrain (self propel is a must) and grass types. After the first full charge I mowed and bagged the back yard on 6 then mowed (& bagged) the front and back again on 4. I still had 1 green light left on the battery when I was finished. I have since mowed (& bagged) 2 more times with no problems. I haven't used the mulching feature yet. I will admit the rear wheel drive took a little getting use to in the turns as I have had a FWD for the last 12... more

Wheel Around
My first time around was a disaster. It was like the wheels wouldn't go around. That is one wheel wouldn't go around. Why not, well let's take it off and see. Drive gear was not engaging wheel teeth. This is no good. Let's take off the other wheel. Why was it driving? No idea, call service. Took it in to service. No idea. We'll check it out. Call next day, "pins not in drive gear where are we now? Pins on order, but are not in stock right now. We will ship when they come in. Meanwhile... more

Pleased
Easy to handle and clean. Cuts well and I love the fact that I don't have to smell gas and oil all day.

If your grass is high or damp the mower tends to stall so if I could pick over I 'd buy a stronger mower, but I am happy with this mower.
Jose, the Lawn Mower Expert
Product Expert
Kenneth,
Damp grass can clump and bog down even larger mowers. It's best to wait for the grass to dry before cutting it.

Excellent Price & Performance
The mower does a very good job - easy height adjustment - pulls itself very well, but is heavy and hard to push by hand. Have not used the bagger yet however, the mulcher does very well. It has plenty of power to mow my entire yard - front
and back, approximately 2400 sq. ft.

Suggestions to improve the mower: "crazy wheels" on front for ease in turning corners, etc. a lithium battery would be lighter in weight and easier to maneuver. BEST FEATURE: No hard starts, no gas... more

Greenworks Mower Does No Hold Charge
I recently bought the 24 volt mower to replace my 24 volts Worx mower and was very disappointed with it. I used to be able to mow my entire yard on a single charge with the Worx and had power to spare. I could not even do half of my yard with a charge using the GreenWorks. It was also terrible on slopes. I fell several times while trying to mow my hill. If you have any kind of slope and more than just a small yard forget this mower. It's not worth the bother.
