Earthquake Tiller
Was easy to assemble. Both tires went flat after about 5 feet of tilling. Company sent 2 new improved tires. It flat eats ground. It's a good tiller for a small garden

Questionable
I have owned front tine tillers for more than 40 years but decided to go with a rear tine and am not satisfied with the Earthquake. After about two non-continuous hours of use in fairly loose garden soil the belt became so loose that it would not till.

The recommended belt guide adjustment was not enough. Spraying with belt dressing helps but it appears the belt has stretched too much.

NOT pleased with this although it does start good and the Earthquake gas auger I have used for many... more

Don,
I am sorry for the trouble. It is recommended in the manual to adjust the belt after the first 30 minutes of use and then every 2 hours after as the belt can stretch. I do not show a record of you calling for assistance. We have a great team of customer service representatives that would be happy to assist you. Please give us a call at 800-345-6007

Try To Till
I bought earthquake tiller and tried to till my garden which was already broke up from last year. Tilled about a 8 foot by 50 foot area and started locking up. Pulled out the dipstick for transfer case and it looked like a twisted pretzel. Called store where I bought it and told me I would have to take it to shop because I put gas in it. How are you going to use it with out gas. Service shop said it could take up to 2 weeks to get it fixed if they can get parts. They said it could take up to 3... more

Works Great.... So Far 5 Stars
I have the 212cc version with the viper motor and it starts on the first pull, granted, this is with the first 2 days of use but probably have started it 10 or 12 times with no issues. As far as tilling goes it takes a bit to get use to but after that no problem.
I'd say if I had a bigger garden say 40 by 80 then a larger tiller would be best but or if tilling whole yards for fresh sod. Overall this has been a great tiller and Earthquakes customer service is top notch.

This Rear Counter Tine Tiller Is An Earth Eater With Power That
Hello, I have been looking for a rear tiller since spring and have just about purchased every one that was priced over eight hundred dollars. But I always wanted to make the right decision and get the one tiller that would work best in tough hardened clay soil. I think I looked at most in the market and they all sounded great and everyone had good stories and some even had terrible stories about their tillers they had purchased. I also checked Craig's List and some sounded good their also,... more

Good But...
I have a couple Earthquake products and they are all of good quality and function well. The problem I have is EVERY Earthquake product I have leaks oil from the moment you put oil in the crankcase. My new tiller is no different. Based on a couple years of use of my other Earthquake products, I would rate the product high but with the oil leak issue I'd be forced to drop the rating. If you store a tiller, lawn edger, etc in your garage, put down a drip pan, cardboard or something as it WILL leak... more

Junk Junk Junk
I bought it from Menards and hated it from the start. It throws all the dirt out to the side and just leaves a furrow. I made some sides for it and that helped. After about 20 hours of tilling last year and this year, the drive cable broke and I see the belt is about shot also. Replacement parts are non-existent. I guess I'll have to go to China to get parts. Definitely will not recommend this tiller or Menards.

Jim,
We are sorry to hear about your experience with this tiller. This being said, you can actually obtain parts fairly easily directly through Earthquake. I have provided you a link to their site where the parts you may need can be ordered directly from them. I would also suggest letting them know of your displeasure with this machine as they would care and would like to know if they need to make any changes.

Piece Of Junk Is Right.
The first year I used it just work okay. I had a friend with a 20 year old tiller come and till the same garden and what a difference Earthquake 6015V pathetic. I was disappointed I bought this brand. I have had many tillers and this one has been the worse. The second year wouldn't start.

The carburetor on the Viper engine is designed to fail. I took it in to the shop and they told me cheaper to just replace it. Got it back home ran it for about 15mins tilling and the belt drive system... more

Piece Of Junk
Bought in 2013 from Menards. Used for 10 mins before the dipstick blew out of the machine. Bought a brand new dipstick and refilled w/oil. Used again in 2014 for 10 mins before the transmission blew.

Took back to Menards. Menards would not take machine back because oil was put in the engine. Now it's time to till again. Good engine but trans is shot! Better off buying a new one than replacing with the parts necessary! COMPLETE waste of $500.
