  8 Questions
Q: Does this machine have shear pins for the auger and third stage?
by Bob Bartelson from Massachusetts on December 03, 2014

A: Bob - yes, the Cub Cadet 3526SWE uses the same OEM-738-04124 shear pins as the Cub Cadet two-stage models do: shear pins
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: Is this machine at least 10 horse power to handle heavy wet snow
by Reg from New Hampshire on November 28, 2014

A: Reg - there is no true conversion from cc's to HP. But the 357cc engine in the Cub Cadet 3526SWE is roughly equal to 11 HP
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: Who makes this engine.? Is it made in the United States?
by Mark from Missouri on October 26, 2014

A: Mark - Cub Cadet builds their own engines. They are manufactured in China.
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: I JUST PURCHASED A 3 STAGE 26" CUB CADET SNOW BLOWER AND WANT TO KNOW IF CUB CADET MAKES CHAINS FOR IT MY DRIVE IS QUITE STEEP.
by JOHN JOPPIE from Michigan on October 21, 2014

A: John - the Cub Cadet 3526SWE has a 15" x 5" tire. We sell a set of Toro #107-3813 tire chains that will work just fine on a Cub Cadet if you need chains: tire chains
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: The Specs indicate it comes with heated hand grips. Is this a change from last season?
by Mike from New York on September 13, 2014

A: Mike - yes, Cub Cadet added heated hand grips as a standard feature on this years 3X models
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: Do these drift cutters work with Cub Cadet (26") 357cc Three-Stage Snow Blower or do they already come with this machine?
by Kim Marino from Colorado on December 12, 2013

A: Kim - you are correct. The Cub Cadet 26" three-stage model would use the OEM-390-679 drift cutters. The three-stage models do not come with drift cutters.
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: What is better steel or polymer chute with wet snow?
by Don Bachman from Michigan on November 23, 2013

A: Don - you will find people who like steel and people who like polymer when it comes to dealing with wet snow. My preference is for the polymer chute when dealing with wet snow, but either way, you'll most likely need to treat the discharge chute with a non-stick spray to fully prevent wet snow from sticking inside the discharge chute.
by Joe, Product Expert
Q: Bob,

How will this machine perform on an unpaved drive?

by Al Openshaw from Minnesota on November 09, 2013

A: Hello Al,

The Cub Cadet (26") 357cc Three-Stage Snow Blower is designed to clear the heaviest of snow on even unpaved surfaces. As you lower the skid shoes, it will raise the auger so that you are not forcing rocks through the impeller as well.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you and have a great day!

Cub Cadet's 3526SWE had added an additional feature that is changing the snow clearing game. They have added a patented “3rd” stage auger to its 2-stage housing allowing this blower to handle 50% more snow than a traditional two stage snow blower making it great for most property owners alike.

Equipped with a powerful 357cc Cub Cadet OHV engine, the 3526SWE has more than enough torque to handle the heaviest of snow fall. Stocked with a standard electric start, all you do is press a button... more

Cub Cadet (26") 357cc Three-stage Snow Blower
Received item in just a few days, it arrived in perfect condition, took 10 minutes to set up. The only problem is that when I filled it with fuel and pushed the primer bulb 3 times it leaked fuel, I don't know if its a broken or cracked tube or something more serious. I let it sit for several minutes before I attempted to start it, putting the choke on and using the electric start it started right up, used it for about 2 hours in the snow storm we just got hit with and it worked flawlessly. My Second Snow Thrower
I purchased the 3x Cub Cadet because it got good reviews from consumer reports, however I found that it did not perform quite as well.
The center auger works great, however the standard front augers don't pull the snow in quite like the video shows.
The headlight assembly wire, I tighten up, because the first time I had refueled and pulled the starter cable it got hooked on my glove and broke .
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Expensive, Not Good For Light Snow

I'm Ready
I received my unit today on-time.... My thoughts are below:

1. Excellent packing from the manufacture. No damage.

2. Directions are a bit tough for the setup. But no major concerns.

3. Great build quality.

4. Started up right away.

5. Average size unit. Not massive.

6. I would highly recommend PED!

Looking forward to not shoveling snow this year......

Nice Experience
My purchase from Snow Blowers Direct was a nice experience. The machine was exactly what I expected, it arrived when I was told to expect it, and the minor assembly was easy.

In addition, since the packaging was slightly damaged, the shipping company spent extra time to ensure that everything inside was undamaged before they left.

Just What I Expected
Arrived on time. Assembled without incident.

A week or so later, 10 inches of snow. Ripped it up no problem at all. Day or so later, it scooped up the icy stuff and moved it just fine.

Pros, plenty of power and the power steering is nice

Cons, reverse 2 is not fast enough, but is common to just about all blowers from what I hear.
Single handle chute control is sort of OK but tends to wander a bit from the setting.

Very Happy
the blower is a beast. It blows snow a good distance and it does good job. Even with heavy wet snow, it will plow it. The blower has very good traction also. I'm a very happy customer

Don't Buy One!
Just received the 26" 3 stage snow blower. Shipped as agreed, truck driver was great. Assembly took perhaps 45 minutes. One note: engine only 1/2 full of oil. Had to add about 300 cc of 5w30. Started great, runs well. Steers easily once you get used to it. Had a fresh snowfall of about 2", it would not blow it. My wife came out to operate the blower while I observed.

What I had bought was a $1300 10 hp snow shovel. The bottom of the augers sit 2"" from the driveway... more

John,
For smaller amounts of snowfall, under 2", your best bet is a single-stage snow thrower. Two-stage snow blowers, and especially three-stage snow blowers, are intended for larger snowfalls and the heaps of snow at the ends of driveways.

While they can be equipped with SLUSH PLOWS for lighter snowfall or wet slush, they are designed for use in deeper snow and for over uneven/gravel surfaces.

Get A Bucket Of Pins And Lots Of Patience For This One
I thought that the Cub Cadet 3x was a good idea worthy of the 300 inches of snow that we get in the Keweenaw. I didn't really care how much it cost because I just need to move a lot of snow quickly when the gales of November come early. The idea really is pretty good, but the execution is lacking. The blower does power through heavy snow as proven on the 3 ft of snow we got in mid November. Then the 2ft we got a few days later.

It starts up on the first or second pull. Unfortunately, I... more

Good Timing
I couldn't be more pleased. My cub cadet arrived about a week after ordering and a few days before the first snow storm. I did request a lift gate which made the unloading easy for the driver. Just took two of us to get it off the hand fork truck.
Removed box from around the blower.

Instructions were very good. Had to position the pinion gear a 1/8 turn to the right of the top arrow guide in order to get the chute to turn equal on both sides. Easy adjustment and only exception to inst.... more

This Is The One
If you have come this far in your search stop, you found it. I have not owned a snow blower for a long time because they would not do what I thought they should. I have relied upon a big garden tractor with a 4 foot plow. After I saw the reviews and videos for the 3X line I decided to get one to replace my aging (16 years) tractor and plow. Well it came today several days too late for the last snow we had. I did, and repeat did, have about 3-1/2 feet plowed up as close to the edge of the... more
