Piece Of Junk
Rear tire fell of due to wrong mount. Motor did not run after less than one year. No close Sears warranty service. Cost more than $200. Dollars to fix it!
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Low Quality, Unreliable, Durability

Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware is a saying that has been around longer than Sears. So beware, if you chose to purchase a Craftsman lawnmower.

I purchased a Model 917-9994A on July 17,2013 and on July 19,2013, just two days later sent it to the Craftsman repair center in Seattle because the grass catcher (bagger) was allowing grass to blow out from around the edges. On August 6, 2013, it was returned to me. They replaced the spark plug??? But did nothing to address the "grass blow by" problem. Only... more

Oil Change Is A Nightmare
After looking all over the mower deck I could not find an oil drain plug because there was not one. To change the oil I had to tilt the mower onto its side to drain the oil from the oil filler tube. If you do this be sure to run all the gas out of the mower first. There is no telling what other odd features this mower has, but I'm sure to find them all.
Pros: Price
Cons: Heavy, Bad Instructions, No Oil Drain Plug

Battery Sucks
Battery lasted one season and I cannot find any information about it. It must be taken to shop to replace it and this is just another expense.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Reliable, Easy To Store
Cons: Heavy, Bad Instructions, Poor Quality Battery

Piece Of Junk
I could not be more disappointed with a lawn mower than this one. I have Bermuda grass and it almost cuts off if I go longer than 1 week between cuts. It also smokes really bad when you first start it and if you shut if off and wait 15-20 minutes before restarting, it is extremely difficult to start...if it starts at all. You have to restart it within the first 10 minutes or you will have to wait at least an hour for it ti start back up. I would never recommend this lawn mower to anyone.
Pros: Price, Features
Cons: Low Quality, Difficult To Use, Unreliable

A Better Boat Anchor Than Mower
Battery must have been a chintzy last minute add-on. Absolutely worthless.

Mower is heavy and unwieldy. Belt easily slips off of drive, another hassle.

Worst service in the world at Sears parts, avoid them like the plague.

They advertise a replacement blade that fits all, but it does not fit this one with a five star blade hole that is very hard to find.
