  1 Question
Q: Is this a can that I can keep gas stored in
like for a year or two

by Linda from Arizona on March 16, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. You should never use old gas on your smal engines. They will greatly effect the performace. If you do store gas for long periods of time make sure you use some type of fuel stabilizer.

Bad Law Causes Bad Spouts.
I HAVE USED MANY OF THE NEW SAFETY SPOUT GAS CANS INCLUDING THIS ONE. They are all too difficult to use to be safe. You need three hands to operate them, and they break after only a few uses.

Too bad regulations force companies to make this crap. A little care and common sense with the old regular pour spouts was safer than these new contraptions.

Good Gas Can Finally
I have been searching for a good gas can and finally found this one. I was tired of my old can spilling gas on my feet or on my mower as I poured it in to the fuel tank. This one does great - only problem is they need to make the directions more clear.

Leaky Mess
Congrats to the Fed Government on requiring leakproof cans - these are horrible - they leak, are difficult to use, and the spring mechanism breaks very quickly.
Recommend you go to a tag sale and get a used gas can.
Cons: Difficult To Use, Unreliable

Briggs Gas Can
Congratulations Briggs on taking something as simple as a gas can and nozzle and turning it into another disposable piece of garbage.

Not Good
It blows up like a beach ball in the sun and tips over, and everytime you take the top off to fill up the o ring slips out of place so when it tips over it leaks. After only about 6 uses the nozzle busted off and ended up inside my fourwheeler tank.

Good Gas Can
This gas can is well made in my opinion, more so than what one would gather from reading the other reviews.

It would be nice if it had just a plain cap for storage rather than having the spring loaded spout, shown in the photo. This can is the first of its kind that I have used where the spout is opened by pushing it down and closed by releasing the spout (spring loaded). I didn't have any problems with it leaking or trouble tightening it.

The small dust cover (i.e. cap) is easy to lose... more
Pros: Price, Exceeded Expectations, Easy To Store, I'd Buy It Again
Cons: Needs Plain Cap, Easy To Lose Dust Cover
