BLUE MAX

Well, It Cuts Wood! For the Price of the Saw I Would Say It Was a Good Deal. Having Some Alignment Issues With the 20" Bar, I Have to Tweak It When I Tighten It Down or Else It Is Off Track and the Chain Wont Rotate Freely. I Leaned Into a Good Size Tree and the Plastic Handle Broke, Retro Fit With Duct Tape to Continue to Use It. Runs Good, Vibration Is Easy, No Problems Starting Like I Read From Others.

I purchased this 18" Blue Max Chain saw 2 weeks ago. I have cut quite a bit of oak trees with it since.

It starts within the first few pulls and runs perfectly. The 45cc engine has plenty of power, similar in size to the bigger and much more expensive Sthil saws.

The chain brake is too touchy as it snaps to brake on its own for no reason. But so far, overall, for the money, I am satisfied with the saw.

CSD RESPONDS: You may want to call the folks at Blue Max directly, toll free, at 800-348-5004 x6691for advice on adjusting your chain brake.

Blue Max (sent to customer service)

The Bule Max I received leaked gas and chain oil right out of the box . The gas leaked so bad it made a dangerous situation. The chain saw would not run so I had to take it to my local small engine shop to get it fixed runs good now.

First time starting took about 15 minutes and numerous tries. Cut with saw about 10 minutes and stopped. Next attempt to use, I tried to start several times but saw never started. Tried on several more occasions by using instructions on the saw and in the book. Saw has never started again. Reboxed saw and returned it.

Very happy

I have not used it a lot but from the little bit I've used it, I am very happy with the saw.

Won't start hot

Nice Saw cuts well but will not Start once it gets hot. Very dissapointing.

I tried everything in the manual but have to let it sit for a half hour after refueling or it will not start.

CSD RESPONDS: Your saw comes with a 1 year Factory Warranty, so just give the folks at Blue Max a call. They will be able to walk you through some simple troubleshooting, or refer you to Authorized Service if need be.

Be sure to have the serial number of your saw handy when you call; they may ask for it to set up your records.

One Great Chainsaw

I ordered two of these chainsaws...kept one and gave the other to a friend. I've used mine serveral times and had very few problems with it.

It usually starts within 4 pulls (that includes the initial one with the choke way out and then back in for the initial warmup period). I've only used the 20" and it has great cutting power. I now use it as my primary saw when I'm out in the forest.

Only dig out my Husqvana when I have something real big to cut. Two minor problems: 1) When it gets hot after about 45 minutes usage, I sometimes have trouble getting it started again. 2) Went to ch... more
