Ariens 8524E Reviews & Ratings
Ariens 8526

There must be a design problem with the auger belts. I've owned mine since 2005, and just installed the 3rd belt, which has slippled off twice. They quickly stretch. Each time I've replaced it I've thought, wow, this is the snowblower I remember. Then in no time at all I can barely throw powdery snow 10 feet. The dealer told me to replace the belt every 2 years. I told him that didn't sound right, and he said "yeah, that's about right." I still don't think it's right. No one I know goes through belts like I have.

We live in the northeast and have owned our Ariens since December 2003. It has never let us down. Our neighbors have replaced theirs at least once over the years but this machine keeps on working. Properly maintained, this snow blower will last for years to come.

Very Disappointed in Ariens Quality

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of my Ariens ST8526 snow thrower. I paid a premium to buy Ariens because it had a good reputation for quality and reliability, but this product seems to let me down whenever I need it the most. If they are trying to follow in the footsteps of Chrysler, and squandering their reputation, they are doing a good job.
I have only owned the product for 5 years and have had numerous problems, including replacing the belts twice. The first time it cost me $250.00, one fourth the purchase price. This is outrageous!
Today, the speed selector arm came off, along with a bushing, right in the middle of a storm, of course. I don't know how many other parts are buried in the snow. Apparently the roll pin walked out due to vibration and allowed the speed selector arm to fall out.
My local dealer told me that I must remove the cover to see which other parts fell out.
This only reason I am writing to you now is to vent my frustration. Next time, I will be buying another brand and I am telling everyone I know how bad this product is.
